From the first time they laid eyes on Catsanova Cowboy in 2014, Rick & Missy Weber of Weber Quarter Horses LLC in Valentine knew he was special. With limited prior experience in the performance arena, his impeccable breeding dictated a stellar career both in the show pen and the breeding barn.
Catsanova Cowboy is sired by High Brow Cat by High Brow Hickory and out of a daughter of the 1982 NCHA (National Cutting Horse Association) Futurity Champion Smart Little Lena. His sire is the #1 Leading Sire in All-Ages, All Divisions, a record breaking Quarter Horse Sire with earners now exceeding $60 Million Dollars and a 7-time NCHA Open Futurity Champion Sire. ‘Cowboy’s’ dam, Rio CD Yadayadayada, is a daughter of CD Olena who won the 1994 NCHA Futurity and later in his career, the NCHA Derby.
The Weber Ranch stallion comes by his athletic ability naturally and he was entrusted early on into the training program of Cody Marx, Marx Performance Horses, Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Newest highlights in his show career include recently announced AQHA (American Quarter Horse Association) national standings. Catsanova Cowboy finished the year 2017 as the First Place High Point All-Ages Tie-Down Roping Stallion; First Place Top Ten Horse in Level 2 Dally Team Roping Heading; First Place High Point Senior Horse Level 2 Senior Dally Team Roping Heading; and First Place High Point Senior Horse in Level 2 Senior Dally Team Roping Heeling.
His additional honors for the year 2017 include: 2nd Place Top Ten Horse Level 2 Dally Team Roping Heeling; 4th Place High Point Senior Horse Tie-Down Roping; 5th Place Top Ten Horse Tie-Down Roping; and 6th Place High Point All Ages Pole Bending Stallion. With AQHA Superiors in Tie-Down Roping and Heeling and a Performance ROM, he boasts a record of 208.5 AQHA Points including 9 Halter and 199.5 performance points in Cutting, Tie-Down Roping, Heading, Heeling, Barrel Racing and Pole Bending.
Quite the accomplishment while also standing to the full book of broodmares at the ranch North of Valentine.
